Frequently asked questions.

Is Andy really handy?

I feel like I get this question the most. Yes, Andy really is incredibly handy. He has done the majority of the renovations on our home. My only reservation to Andy doing major work on our home abroad was that Andy will start a project and then get busy with work and not return to the project for months and we are stuck living in a construction zone. Not something I really wanted to experience when leaving behind the chaos of Pittsburgh and trying to unwind.

Are we rich and do we work?

This one is so, so funny! One, because we look MUCH younger than what we actually are and Two, because we work really, really hard in our daily lives.

Andy is the owner of Dessert Before Dinner, a production company here in Pittsburgh that he built from the ground up. His creative mind has lent itself to projects for companies such as: Pokémon, Grove, Hasbro, Nat Geo Wild and Post Cereal to name a few.

As for me, I had gotten my first bachelors in travel journalism. Writing has been a major part of my life since I was able to form sentences. That style of work, however, wasn’t something that I thought was sustainable and so I went back and got a masters degree in teaching English. I am currently a language teacher for middle and high school and will soon be taking an exam to get certified to teach Italian, a labor of love I took on during covid to honor my love of language learning and my family’s roots. I started When in Provence to get back into writing and share our tales from the South of France.

Does Andy always act like how he did on camera?

I think a lot of people think Andy was putting on for the camera. Love him or hate him, this is how he acts in real life. As some people commented, we do balance each other out quite well. I am a bit quiet, reserved and he is excitable and childlike. I simmer him down when he needs to be chilled out and he pumps me up when I am too mellow.

Are they just short or is the agent really, really tall?

Both! I am 5’1 and Andy is 5’7. Our agent was over 6 feet!
